Tim Tebow Sends A Message

By Jamal Booker

When the Florida Gators won the BCS title game over Oklahoma last week, there was a Bible verse heard round the sports world. Tim Tebow, Florida’s quarterback and arguably the best college quarterback ever, had the scripture John 3:16 written on his eye black, as you can see in the picture below. Believe it or not, this promotion made John 3:16 the most searched term on Google on January 8th.

Tebow is actively involved in minstry, and it’s well documented that he sees his platform as a star quarterback as the perfect vehicle to spread the Gospel. “His whole purpose of playing football and being Tim Tebow is to use it as a platform to spread his faith,” Florida Coach Urban Meyer said about his star athlete, who will be returning to Florida for his senior season. Every game this year, Tebow has broadcast a scripture under his eyes (often it was Philippians 4:13), and it has proved to be an effective ministry tool. I guess his playing skills don’t hurt much either!

This will be Tebows’ last message. Hes not going pro for two reasons, A because hes not going to be anything in the NFL and B because he wants to stay in the lime light for one more year. Florida is going to fall in the SEC next year Tebow won’t win the Heisman.
